The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

— "Adventure has always called to me, and with coming of age, I decided to leave the Mist Isles in search of my calling,” I say, my voice singing softly as I speak. “I made a boat with the help of my family and went on an adventure, just like my dad did. Now I’m just following where the wind will take me and seeing what lies ahead.”
“Well then, that is quite a big step into your life. Any reason the wind took you to the Reach?” The old woman asks.
“My father said that the South Reach was breathtaking to see. He painted many landscapes of the place, so I want to see his paintings in real life.” I smile, fidgeting with the feathers on my necklace. “These were my fathers feathers, he left them for me when he left me and Mom behind. I don't blame him for leaving, but I do wish he had taken me with him. The call for adventure is strong, almost an unstoppable force at times.
“Eryndor was a wonderful place to grow up, with all the people going about their days and saying hello or talking about their day. Although, it was not the safest place with the cliffs and sharp rocks below. Children can be cruel about those that are different. Thankfully, not being able to lie is helpful in those situations.”
“Yes, I imagine being fey would be helpful when others spread lies.”
“Extreamly helpful, when they choose the truth. It may not always be pretty and it may hurt, but it is for the best.”
