Name: Thrudni
Age: 27
Race: Greatling
Culture: Stonerunner

A tall woman, though on the shorter side for a Greatling. Green eyes gaze out oft in a neutral scrutinizing gaze. Her dark hair drapes around the ram’s horns that frame her oval shaped face and hangs freely down to her shoulders. She is often dressed in a simple but sturdy tan tunic and pants beneath a warm coat that tightens near the wrists and clasped around the waist with a belt. As of late her wardrobe has expanded to include more elegant and colorful outfits and clothing of Walljack style.
Story

Born in the Amafell mountains, Thrudni was raised in a small mercantile clan on the fringes of the Nyr confederation. The nature of her clan impressed on her a value of physical labor and hard work from a young age and introduced her to Valkians, Falstoners, and other Stonerunner Confederacies. It was these interactions with those outside her clan and confederation that fostered a curiosity in her of the world beyond the Amafells.
The harsh environment of the Amafells and the necessities of survival in such a rugged climate taught her that uncertainty and a lack of caution was death. She was told that she must be sure her actions are the best before acting, which often lead to her hesitation and being slow to act for fear of reprimand and punishment for failure or poor execution. It would take her childhood to restore her confidence and overcome the indecision and anxiety this had created in her.
In her late adolescence she would seek out the clans of the Forn Confederation based on the frightening tales of her youth told to her by her siblings. She sought to learn to hone her strength and skill at arms under their tutelage so she could better protect herself and others in her clan. They impressed on her an importance in martial skills and disciplined, steady practice to hone herself, to face challenges and adjust when met with failure or drawbacks.
During an especially brutal and harsh winter as she started to exit her early adulthood, poor fortune spelled ill will on the clan, with sickness and famine striking it. Short of hands, those in good health struggled to maintain the fires warming the long houses and care for the sick. With the death of the clan’s matriarch, it entered into a terminal decline with most being absorbed into other tribes or fell in raids to bandits and thieves. Thrudni remained behind to tend to the dead, laying their bodies on a rocky outcropping facing out west from the Amafells, each propped on a pile of rocks so they could view the stars. she would leave them there, in sky burial, for nature and carrion feeder to claim their flesh under the promise to return and inter their bones in the barrow halls.
Thrudni chose not to follow the remnants of her clan, wishing for something better than the cold and bitter life that sapped the strength and breath of her kindred. Feeling the tug of curiosity that drove her desire to know more of the lands and people beyond the Amafell mountains. She struck forth to Notthof, to seek a star reading from the Diviners and know if fortune favored this wish to roam beyond the mountains. With their blessings, and with the stars shining in her favor, she would follow the cairn stones down from the peaks, through the Striped Pass, and to the valleys and lands below. She would follow traders and valley-folk to Albern’s Crossing and, from there, southwards towards Spire-Town chasing rumors of strange going-ons and events that she thought might lead her to further work or fortune.
Personality
᚛ᚗ ᚂᚖᚖᚁ ᚐᚗ ᚂᚘᚐᚃᚗᚂᚎᚙᚐᚉ ᚉᚊᚒᚘᚋ᚜
Thrudni has a stoic, quiet, and reserved personality that can hide a prideful and friendly nature underneath. To those she feels comfortable with, she is more than happy to engage in friendly banter and light razzing, happily admitting defeat to a superior comeback. She is quick to accept friendly challenges and competitions, viewing failure as a chance to improve. She finds annoyance in those who can’t take defeat or adjust to failure.
Her life in the Amafells and time learning under the Forn have left her a need to practice and act with readied caution. She spends a significant amount of her time practicing her form and working on her strength at the pit. More recently, she has also taken time to better understand the arcane spark that was awoken inside her and Az’Tur by Meriel Noctis.
Clinging to her convictions, she can, at times, be arrogant to a fault in how self assured she can be, though her confidence has been shaken by recent failings that have humbled her. Her curiosity has driven her to meet those who might otherwise be odd or entirely different from her. Combined with her dedication to those she views as friends, she has encountered many new things in the Spire and pursued understanding them by through exploration and inquiry.
Diligent: “If I do not succeed, I will work to achieve.”
Proud: “I said I would and so I did.”
Trusting: “All deserve a chance until they have wronged me”
