Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

Without a second thought, the halfling leaned back as the older woman went closer. "Pardon, but I'd prefer if you kept your distance." Ariadne spoke harshly, yet the woman had let out a deep sigh; what could be the harm in indulging an old lady in this awfully long journey that's getting considerably worse with how many people have found themselves inside the wagon?
She cleared her throat, her gaze moving to the stranger's eyes. "I venture to reach for meaning and purpose." Her hand tightened around the handle of the freshly forged blade on her lap as she remembered the short nod her mother gave before heading back to tend to her duties as the head of the family.
The Albern Crossing had been a location spoken about throughout her clan; there had always been several who had reached her age that headed off to seek more for themselves as of late, but for some reason the halfling had never found herself thinking of doing such a thing, as she was an only child and there were no others to take over the responsibility as head, yet her mother had other plans. A few days ago, she was forced to go off; the woman was told that Korami held nothing more worthy for her and instead to go to The Spire to figure out the meaning behind the structure that reached the sky.
To her, that tell was more of a gift. The tower had always made her curious, and the ruins did the same. The halfling shook her head, as if trying to shake her thoughts away, and sighed. "That is all, nothing more and nothing less. I am simply a lady making a name for herself." Ariadne admitted before turning away from the old lady.
