Reflection Accounts of the Southern Free Charter

Dearest readers, I offer deepest apologies for the delay in preparing this but I felt it appropriate to wait until the close of the Typhon Tournament but I made sure to have it ready before the end of the year. But what an exciting season full of cheer, revelry, camaraderie, sportsmanship and growth, oh so much growth! Has it not been? I dare you to speak contrary!

Of course we have two highlights of the season. Firstly, and the larger - the Typhon Tournament! We had nearly half the guild participate and in an exemplary display we were champions for half of the official Tournament Games, and we returned home with half of the Grand Prizes! I cannot be more proud, and I hope all of you will share in that pride with me! Perhaps the next time such a tournament occurs, we might have our total member participation and we might win it all; Ha! What a sight that would be! But I jest, we will not allow greed to ruin everyone's enjoyment. Even in this tournament, we had hopes of winning but we tried our hardest to refrain from pressuring you all and above all we hoped you enjoyed every moment of it. I know I did. For those who may have missed one or two days, or are unsure of the final standings allow me to remind you:
Martial Melee: Third Place [Out of 6 teams]
Mage Melee: Champions
Knight and Charge: Champions
Siege the Tower: 'Champions' but in the spirit of sportsmanship and in keeping with Tournament rules, our representatives willingly abandoned the placement (as they had championed another game).
Typhon's Joust: Second Place [Out of 14 Participants]
Having written it all out, I cannot help but feel impressed once more. And I would be remiss to not applaud the support our representatives received at every game. So for every one of you in the stands cheering us on! Thank you so much!
To the taunts and jeers however, Oh how I wish I could have fell a star upon your filthy tongues! I am not ugly! Nor Am I Bald! Such cruel insults to one so undeserving - Me!
My apologies, perhaps that was an unnecessary aside, but I shan't allow this ink be wasted and start this over.
Anyways, Congratulations to everyone! We will be hosting a Ceremony to commemorate our achievements and in addition to that, we have so many rank updates, it would only be suiting to commemorate them as well! So keep an eye on our notice boards.
Secondly, I am sure many of you noticed - We have expanded and updated our Guild Hall. Due to the tournament and being able to shift operations to our tent on festival grounds temporarily, our Masons and Carpenters were able to complete the Hall in record time!
Though I imagine the discovery came bittersweet. Welcoming our new Charter Hall means we have had to say our farewells to the old Thorn and Thistle. Still, We believe the expansion was necessary considering our growth and we hope the new and improved construction will be better able to facilitate all our operations and future goals.
You will also find someone new working our reception as an Aide to the Charter. Their name is Wulfe. Their responsibility will be to keep members updated on Jobs, Notices and to help clarify any information contained therein. They also will help sign new members and attend to the Hall as a whole in cooperation with the Foreman.
//OOC: This is a NPC to allow for some 'management' DM'ed by MsTorii, CaptainCynical or BmZuzu, in the event our PCs are unavailable. They are also meant to serve as a 'Quest-giver' of sorts in similar situations. They are present only between the times of noon (12pm ic time) to dusk (6pm ic time)
On that note, we will also be offering employment opportunities for support - staff. Brief details outlined on Leaf IV.
Leaf II, Accounts of Undertakings Complete; |
- Caravan Rescue
Description: word of a downed Caravan. Had to fight bandits and other threats, and rescue any survivors of the merchant caravan.
Difficulty: Opal (B-Rank)
Outcome:
Members made it to the Caravan and Merchants in peril were rescued. - Missing Persons in the woods.
Description: Word of people of all walks of life going missing in the woods, and confusing rumours of treasure and gold drawing them in before they disappeared. Find the cause of the disappearances and rescue the people or recover their remains.
Difficulty: Diamond (A-Rank)
Outcome:
Members slowly made their way through the Wanderwoods where the found the source of those rumors, and the creatures responsible for the disappearances. Unfortunately no survivors remained. The creatures were slain so they would not create future victims.
- the Midnight Circus
Description: In support of the rescue mission of a captured citizen, the charter set forth to the midnight circus.
Difficulty: Opal (B-Rank) | Diamond (A-Rank)
Outcome:
Members were able to repel two different bands carnie reinforcements that likely might've significantly impacted the rescue attempt.
- No Man left behind
Description: after receiving word of an unfortunate error that left a guild member captured by the Midnight Circus, a plan was made to find and rescue them.
Difficulty: Diamond (A-Rank)
Outcome:
Members were able to successfully rescue their fellow guild member, who has made a complete recovery from their injuries.
- Typhon Tournament
Description: as described in Leaf I
Outcome: as described in leaf I
- Challenging a Viragos
Description: Word from the Amafells of a warrior intending to challenge a Viragos seeking minimal support.
Difficulty: Gold (S-Rank)
Outcome:
Challenge may have ended in the warrior's death if not for the support. Job was successful but both involved suffered significant injuries.

Matters unresolved, ongoing contracts, matters we look to undertake soon.
- A Hunt for Pelts
This mission will remain ongoing until we have gathered ample supply. - Foraging in the Reach
the Reach is rarely in short supply of useful flora. And within the Seneschalty itself many are traded freely, at reasonable prices. However the Charter will continue this foraging initiative for both learning purposes (in accurately identifying various flora and where to find them) and to acquire useful material without significant crown expenditure. - Filling in the maps
A Wayfarer led initiative, more details to come. - Patrol and Escorts
The Charter will continue to offer escorts along the roads as far as the crossing and through the wilds of the Reach. - Hunt for a Horned Monarch
Party has been formed, Plans are in motion. - Lectures, Teachers and Apprenticeship
We've had a few trainings. We plan to continue and expand the breadth of skills our members have. - Eta's Challenge
One of our Members will be hosting a fighting challenge soon! Keep check of the notice boards. - (NEW) Jobs in the Charter Hall.
The Charter will soon begin recruitment for small but consistent jobs in aiding the foreman, maintaining the brewery and storage, and in candlemaking. These jobs will award marks across the time spent working ((passive mark income week by week)) and crowns ((voting income can be considered income from job icly)). Stay tuned for further details. Interested parties may make themselves known to any Chair or to the Aide (Wulfe).
