The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.

“Nervous?”

You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.

“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.

“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

How do you respond (in character)? (250 word minimum - please make sure to include at least three references to our lore in your response, with two coming from different pages in the Compendium.  Two of the three selected should also be in-depth, avoid simply name-dropping lore terms. Tie the terms into your character's backstory. Why are they important to them?) "In truth? I have come running from my past. Ah, that's not important anymore. No one from my past should come back to  haunt me here. They are probably too busy looking for someone else to blame for their problems. Still, I think I will miss my home. I grew up on the mountain ranges of the Valkian realm. Now that's a pretty chaotic bunch, all power hungry. I hope the mountains here are just as beautiful. I am curious about the great disappearance though, I find it very hard to believe that a whole group of settlers can just disappear like that. There must be some kind of trail they left. Maybe I can try to find some evidence of where they went. That might even make me a little famous." He chuckles to himself, in some doubt that anything that hasn't already been found would still be discoverable. "I wonder what the Reach will be like." I attempt to switch the topic quickly. "I've heard stories but not too much. I'm just looking for a second chance at life where no one knows who I am. Maybe I can find some work like a trader or a mercenary." I start fidgeting with my fingers while I look into the distance. "I've always been good at finding work, everyone needs something done. I'll find something eventually." I pull out my necklace, previously belonging to my father. I whisper to myself quietly "Watch over me, alright old man" I say as I tuck it back into my shirt.

- Firstly, your response to our prompt is mostly dialogue, and quite squished together. I would recommend expanding, and piecing together in proper paragraphs.

- Secondly, the response is written in first person. Please fix this!

- The Great Disappearance is a great addition for referencing lore, but unfortunately you described it as a settlement disappearing as opposed to an entire empire. Fix this, and expand on your lore references please.

- Your skin is a bit too modern for our setting, i'm afraid! Please try and find a different one to use as an example.

"In truth? I have been running for my life. I may have upset a couple of red fists, and they started hunting me. Ah, that's not important anymore. No one should be able to track me back here."

The man thinks quietly to himself "They are probably too busy looking for someone else to blame for their problems. Still, I think miss my home." He takes out a small map that he had sketched out as a child

"I grew up on the mountain ranges of the Valkian realm." He shows the elder the map. "I hope the mountains here are just as beautiful." He pauses for a moment "The realm is in some chaos at the moment though. It's under heavy control from a whole manner of people, all power hungry."

He attempts to switch the topic quickly after realizing that he may have spoken a bit too much on his home. "I am curious about the great disappearance though, I find it very hard to believe that a whole civilization can just disappear like that. There must be some kind of trail they left."
