The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands. “Nervous?” You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes. “I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in. “Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?” How do you respond (in character)? (250 word minimum - please make sure to include at least three references to our lore in your response, with two coming from different pages in the Compendium.  Two of the three selected should also be in-depth, avoid simply name-dropping lore terms. Tie the terms into your character's backstory. Why are they important to them?) "In truth? I have been running for my life. I may have upset a couple of red fists, and they started hunting me. Ah, that's not important anymore. No one should be able to track me back here." The man thinks quietly to himself "They are probably too busy looking for someone else to blame for their problems. Still, I think miss my home." He takes out a small map that he had sketched out as a child "I grew up on the mountain ranges of the Valkian realm." He shows the elder the map. "I hope the mountains here are just as beautiful. Oh I had this Tressym when I was younger too! Always with me that one I tell ya. I named em Jack" I pause for a second "Okay I may not be that creative with names but I still loved him with all my heart." He paused for a moment before continuing "The realm is in some chaos at the moment though. It's under heavy control from a whole manner of people, all power hungry. Especially our so called "King-Emperor" oh don't get me started on him, he's the worst!" He attempts to switch the topic quickly after realizing that he may have spoken a bit too much on his home. "I am curious about the great disappearance though, I find it very hard to believe that a whole civilization can just disappear like that. There must be some kind of trail they left." "Maybe I can try to find some evidence of where they went. That might even make me a little famous." He chuckles to himself, in some doubt that anything that hasn't already been found would still be discoverable. "I wonder what the Reach will be like. I've heard stories but not too much. I'm just looking for a second chance at life where no one knows who I am." "Maybe I can find some work like a trader or a mercenary." He start fidgeting with my fingers while I look into the distance. "I've always been good at finding work, everyone needs something done. I'll find something eventually." He pulls out a strange necklace, previously belonging to his father, out of his shirt. "I'll make it through just fine if I have lady luck by my side. My father gave me this swearing that she had blessed this old necklace. Ever since got it though it hasn't brought me much luck.
