In-Character

Read the following prompt:

The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.

“Nervous?”

You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.

“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.

“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

How do you respond (in character)? While the low rumbling sound of the wagon wheels and drum like sound of the horses, who are dragging the wooden wagon to the destination of a new world for Adonis, bumping to the small pebbles and Granules of the dirt road, I look at the sweet older woman and smile nervously while replying to her: "Well didn't know it was that noticeable that I am new to this. However, I came, from a village under the Serene Monarchy faction, to the Reach for a fresh start, a new part of my story to write on this book that is called life." Then he says under his breath: "And I might have been kicked out of my village as punishment for my long history of pranks." Which he ended with a nervous smirk at the end of the sentence.

After some time, Adonis started talking more about why he wanted to go to the southern Reach: "When I heard about the reach from some travelers at my old village, I just fantasized about the vast golden fields and the place that has been repurposed into a town, I think it was called the Spire if I recall it correctly, I really want to see the city and its history and try the cuisein there. And I really hope we stop at Albern Crossing, I really want to see the hub of travelers of the Southern Reach!" Adonis said enthusiastically while he couldn't contain his excitement. "Just thinking about it makes me jump from excitement!" He said while somewhat jumping in his seat, which made the wagon shake more above the unsteadiness of the road. 

Adonis then started noticing a huge, long, flat structure. He then said: "Is this the structure that everyone keeps calling The Wall by any chance!?" He said with wonder gleeming in his eyes. He continued asking about how it was made, for how many years did it stand triumphant infront of the battles that possibly happened in the area. "I can't wait to learn about everything in the Southern Reach!" He said while trying to contain his energy.

- To lessen OOC bleed, we require applications and server roleplay to be written in third person instead of first person
- Furthermore on the above point, I ask that your character name is changed to be distinguishable from your OOC name. This is also to avoid player confusion when speaking about you or your character
- To be safe; I'd like to ask for a little more in depth elaboration on two of the three points. 
- Your writing is also relatively difficult to read as it's one big chunk of text. For some added readability I'd like to ask for some paragraphing
- You also seemed to have posted your application twice! I request that the duplicate one be deleted.

Hi! Most of the previous issues have been remedied, but unfortunately your lore is still rather vague. We'd like to avoid simply name dropping and shallow descriptions when it comes to it! This is so we know you understand the world your character will be living in. I'd like to see some more elaboration on things such as why and how these chosen references matter or tie in to your character. Anyone from anywhere can comment on the Reach's beauty, but why would this matter to yours?

For some suggestions, you could possibly elaborate more on his life leading up to this trip: what motivation would he have to come here instead of finding elsewhere to live? Did he maybe break a rule culturally important to the Mistans? Did he try somewhere else and disagreed with their outlook on life?

You don't have to take those suggestions fully if you have your own ideas, of course! Please leave another reply when you've edited again, and if you desire more help or pointers-- you may always ask in the discord!
