The Dancers of the Dead

   The Saisui clan began around the time the warring period between clans first started in Ko’ram. The battles obviously produced a great number of Blighted, but nobody exactly wanted to deal with them because to do so would disturb the dead. The Saisui knew that these undead would become a greater problem in the future and so they decided to fill the niche of becoming a sort of “clean up crew” after battles. Most clans greatly disliked them, seeing the Saisui as unclean or cursed for dealing so heavily in the dead. Because of this, they were for the most part outcast and shunned. 

   This distrust was not without exception though, as the Kensho saw opportunity in the Saisui’s skill. They were granted noble status by means of recognizing the Saisui as a samurai clan, allowing the Saisui to exercise their practice of undead slaying with relative ease without having to worry about getting direct permission from each clan present in a battle to handle their dead. When the Saisui clan arrived at a battlefield, it was almost always a sure sign the battle had finished. Samurai of the Saisui clan used a specialized technique to dispatch large hordes of the undead, a technique still passed down to this day. If survivors were found they were tended to and brought with them to their camps. This compassion was extended to enemy survivors as well. An extremely loose truce is held between the Saisui and Odohki as the Saisui clan’s actions directly benefitted them by allowing future battles to be fought in the same location without risk of undead hordes. Odohki soldiers had been known to on occasion attack the Saisui, but no attempt has been recorded of the Saisui doing the same in return.
