Hello all who might be reading this. You may know me, you may not! My name is Hoeft, and I'm simply looking for a chill spot to RP with faces both familiar and not. I mainly RP on FFXIV, but I still enjoy what MCRP has to offer and will likely drop in here and there. I've some experience as a DM or event runner, though that's not really what I'm looking to do here - instead I simply wish to enjoy what this community has to offer.

Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

The fellow stared across the wagon, eyes boring a hole into the canvas tarp that shaded them from the sun. How long had he been staring? Zoning out? Dissociating? He wasn't keeping track, in truth - his mind elsewhere, miles away as he stared... and stared... and -- "Hm... wha-?"
His eyes flicked over, taking a moment to find just who was addressing him of all people. Brows furrowed as he met the older woman's gaze, a mixture of confusion and bewilderment stirring across his face. "Is it truly that obvious..? Lady of the Lake save me, I must truly be in over my head if I can't even think without exuding an aura of naivete." His words were spoken with a bit of an awkward chuckle, not quite forced - though certainly anything but natural.
Still, her question had yet to be answered, and the lad's gaze flicked downwards and to the side as he pondered for a beat. And then another... and another after that. Why was he fleeing coming to the Reach? He remembered the fire, he remembered the gaze in his old man's eyes. He had no home in the Midlands, not anymore. And so his gaze flicked back to the woman's, and with a hum and a shrug of the shoulders the lad spoke a lie and a truth in the same breath. "Why... the adventure, of course."

Brief Physical Description: Unremarkable, or at least that's what many have said. Truly a face among many! Sporting a proverbial mop of dark brown hair and a perpetual look of anxiety within his gaze, the lad practically blends into the surroundings (or at least tries to). Standing at 5'4" and with a lean build - one cannot help but wonder how this runt has survived this far...
