Are you at least 18 years old?: Yep
Have you read the rules? (Link): Yes!
(Optional) Were you referred by someone? If so, who: Nope
(Optional) Introduce yourself if you’d like, as well as any creations you want to share (e.g. art, builds, skins): Howdy, I'm Claire! I've been playing minecraft and doing RP on and off for years. I'm also a writer, mainly of fantasy, so this is really up my alley. I can't find any of my old builds to share (new computer) but I also like to think I'm a pretty good builder, and I do almost exclusively medieval fantasy builds.

In-Character
Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”
How do you respond (in character)? (150 words minimum - please make sure to include some references to our lore in your response!)
"Freedom."
I look out to the horizon. I have never seen such a beautiful place as this. The gentle greens and browns of the rich earth, the pale blue sky of a spring morning, and to the east on the horizon, if I strain my eyes, I can see the faintest hints of mountains.
I turn my head towards the old woman and see her unmoved, her infectious grin softening my attempt to be aloof. She clearly won't accept a one-word answer as sufficient, so I might as well.
"It's not a very exciting story. I'd imagine most of the people who come here are running from something; I'm no different. My mother is Mistan, and I was raised in Sirensong. When I was old enough to make my own choices I decided to head out to find adventure. I didn't build a boat myself– not everyone in the cities is as observant of some of our practices– so I found passage on a merchant ship. My father was from a small country in the north you've probably never heard of; the Valks took over almost a decade before I was born. I knew I had some family up there still so I thought I'd stay with them for a time.
"I won't bore you with my trials and tribulations, but suffice it to say the Valkian Realm was rough. My father's homeland had resisted the Red Fists pretty hard, so even though the conquest is now almost thirty years past there was still a heavy military presence. I learned pretty quick that soldiers, merchants, anyone who thinks they deserve power over you, they're all the same. I got kicked around a few too many times. That's when I heard about a caravan to the Reach that was leaving from the next town over. . ."
I'd started staring out at the horizon again, and when I turned my head back to the woman, her smile now seemed forced. We were the only two left in the wagon; we'd arrived. I'd rambled the trip away yet again.
"Ah, sorry. Let's get going," I said, noting with a sigh the obvious relief on the poor woman's face.

Character Name: Serapha
Character Race: Human
Character Age: 22
Brief Physical Description: Serapha is quite tall for a woman, almost six feet. She has subtle red hair, which her father always told her meant they had distant Fey ancestry. She never really bought it, because her eyes are a perfectly normal human brown. She's got some muscle, but nothing to write home about. Some people have hazarded to call her pretty, but she's never quite reached beautiful.
