The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

"I uh... had a falling out, if you will, with some Valkian merchants. They said they didn't like how I was... conducting business... yes... Ahem. I may or may of said some unscrupulous things about their bloodline and they may or may not have sent some unscrupulous people after me. Look the details don't matter. Those Valkians can all shove a stick up where the sun won't shine on it. They're not getting a single crown from me, I stol- I mean- I 'acquired' it fair and square. It doesn't even belong to them for crying out loud! I don't see what the big deal about a brooch is anyway. Enough about me, how about the Reach? Eh? I've heard a great many things about the Reach, mainly regarding that spire... If you ask me, those fancy elves probably used that spire to flee a coming calamity. How? Simple. Ancient elven magic. Am I worried? Nah. Those fancy elves live real long, meaning they plan a while ahead. Meaning we should be fine as long as we all die in... one... two... carry the four... I say fifty-ish years. Thats enough time for me to make a fortune peddling whatever fancy trinkets and baubles those elves may have left behind."
