The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

— "To continue the purpose I gave myself. Traveling the land and broadening my horizons. Helping people who need that extra sword in their corner when things are tough, or the noble knight that scares away the creatures lurking. Because that very idea, never got made a reality for me and my family. The life of a merchant family is not always one of such lavish luxury and coin-filled pockets, ours was one of filling others pockets with coins till it was our blood. Bandits and Thieves one day, Cutthroat tax collectors the other...day after day they shriveled up our expenses bit by bit till we were not but that of the streets themselves. I now take the odd jobs that'll go from getting my hands dirty, to what very well could cost me my life...its just where the road has taken me. Heck maybe with all my " flickering a bronze coin between each finger as it were rolled over each one of his gloved digits "...or well Mercenary for the short and sweet title I suppose..." He'd pause stretching his arms as far as he could in the enclosed space without bumping into someone else "If im extra lucky ill get rich by finding something special hidden or left behind from that whole big disappearance of Adeall" setting the Ivory carved mask unto his face which shown near nothing besides hollow sockets to reveal faint glimmer of his azure colored eyes with it bearing a wicked smile composed of teeth resembling an animals but with a human smile "I suppose since youve been me the charity of your conversation, I should introduce myself. Im The Jackal"

Brief Physical Description: Cloaked and shrouded in a brown rustic cloak, fitted in light but durable leather armor, gloves, and layers to conceal majority if not all of his body, donning a skeleton faced mask. Built thin but well built due to his very active line of work. Underneath the surface, blue eyes, hair for some reason or another bleached with rendered down acidic oil and dyed pink through a mix of lavender and rose petals combined with lemon juice with alum to set it unto his hair.
