OOC
Minecraft Username: Passencore and CargoCultism. Probably only going to use the second one, but thought i’d include both.
Are you at least 18 years old?: Yepyep
Have you read the rules? (Link): Also yep
(Optional) Were you referred by someone? If so, who: Alas, despite the familiarity of a few faces, I was not.
(Optional) Introduce yourself if you’d like, as well as any creations you want to share (e.g. art, builds, skins): I’m the infamous creature known as Passencore. I have been at this hobby in some form or another for a good long while now, as have most of us at this stage. I cannot promise to be overmuch present here, as my time is limited in this respect. I write poems, short fiction, and roleplay. I feel like anything else is just filler, but know that I am very pleased to see some of you again.

In-Character
Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”
How do you respond (in character)? (150 words minimum - please make sure to include at least three references to our lore in your response, with two coming from different pages in the Compendium.)
“Ah.” replies Satoshi, moving to brush long lengths of unkempt black hair out of his face as he turned to gaze upon the woman. An owlish regard of her, with deep black eyes that drank in her weathered visage. “Why, why indeed. This is a question that is asked often, to be sure, in regards to place. Forgive my meandering, miss, but this is a subject I have often puzzled over myself. Bear with me. Perhaps there will be an answer.” His fingers, already slightly bent, scratch at his sleeves. “What comes to mind is a parable involving the beast known as a Dunk-Bear. Perhaps you are familiar? It lives in rivers, swimming along, up and down the current, foraging for moss that grows on the silt-bed. When the river diverts in its flow, so too does our river-dweller. He lives by flowing, but he is bound like a caravaner is, through the narrow passages in the mountains… back home. In Korami, I learned the broader land was called.
I do not want to be so bound. In few words, I pursue the free and easy wandering of the wind, flowing through every opening and lack thereof, passing through the mist held as a weapon by the Siren Serene as much at ease as if he were rifling through a field of grain.
I think we therefore arrive at our answer. Like the answer one gets asking the same question of the wind:
‘Why not’?”

Character Name: Satoshi (First son of Satoshi)
Character Race: Human
Character Age: 20
Brief Physical Description:
Thin and gangly. Youthful-looking, pale and with dark hair kept without much care long enough to form the occasional curtain over his face. His fingers are gnarled, his nose is crooked, but he carries himself with a strange grace, despite the occasional limp. He wears simple robes, deep black and lightly-stained white. Often seen with an attempt at a serene smile on his face.
