Elreyna's Journal
Started by Wake

[Successful Arcane roll required to understand]

*The page appears to detail a theoretical spell-joining of Ether and Cursesmithy. It seems Elreyna has designed a circular glyph detailed around otherworldly and eldritch symbols of another Realm in a theoretical idea to physically breach into the Nocturne as a whole, not just in mind. The notes and details are extraordinarily accurate, as if Elreyna herself was from the Nocturne as well as having an advanced grasp of Voidal magic, with a potent understanding of mathematical equation on how long she could open Slipspace to reach 'a place beyond all places.'*

*Unfortunately, it seems the theory failed as the bottom-right paragraph reads:*

All in theory until tested. Test one did; yet reminded so dramatically that the Nocturne is no 'place,' merely a location no legs nor arms can reach. It is a Realm of the Mind, islands of dreams and an ocean of infinity. That is not to say one cannot lose their soul within the dreamscape, by extension their physical life, thus one's mind must be emotionally and intellectually founded to survive, let alone travel. It is not a Realm, I conclude, one can ever physically enter.

And were it ever to happen in my lifetime, woe to I, for something terrible would have happened to make it so.

An oxymoron.
Vampirism originates from the Nocturne, yet the Nocturne fears vampires itself.

Vampirism is a condition, and like all conditions, can be removed. As its ties are solely warped reversal to negative Nocturne affect, the solution should lay within the cursed's mind itself. A deep-dive unto one's psyche to unravel the entity from one's soul should be straightforward: enter the vampire's mind and cut the soul free. How this transpires would be case-by-case, as true for all Nocturne venture.

My mind, no longer bound to the Nocturne and instead this entity, shall be a conduit of support, always.
The fear others hold for me fuels the foe whose tendrils wrap my soul, the unspeaking horror that makes the night frightful. Should they learn this or not, their minds are not for me to dictate; only confliction comes from my actions and the actions of other vampires, uncontrollable, untamed.

I am in control.
What horrors I witnessed in the Nocturne ease my mind, now.
I know fear, true fear. I can hold back the bloodlust, if only they would trust me on this.

Elvish: <A poison that affects only those of mutated blood, attacking mutant blood. Mutagenic-composed ailment, solely alchemically designed to leave a mutant feverish and 'dying' weak for up to a week before natural recovery as the body filters it out of the blood renewed. A horrific creation, yet my formula here should allow its key chemicals to be identified for easier treatment, should it be used again.>

[The formula for an anti-mutant poison is here, requiring some complicated distillation and exotic chemicals to create]

*The diagram seems to depict a theoretical arcane makeup of a temporal crystal found embedded within The Spire*

Bloomburrow 13th, 1642,

I seldom write about myself anymore. Forgive me, any reader of the future. I arrived at the Spire only two years ago on the calendar, and yet, my mind has been through the Nocturne's depths then deprived of it through vampirism- both waking Realm without sleep and the endless dreaming Realm causing me to believe I am older than I am physically.
I feel old; yet I know, by the stars, its a falsehood. I am only 35.

I've taken to spending much time at home recently. I always enjoyed my own company, yet I find comforts untold in love.
Soon, we are to be married. My last name will change, becoming part of Clan Jarvain. Two wives; not one. Never would have thought it at all possible for myself to accept such a thing, but alas, the heart wants what the heart desires. I asked Konrad to lead me down the theoretical aisle, whenever our wedding shall be. Its being planned at the moment. Thrundi is eager, as always.

And... I write this because I hope one day my child will read this.
To have a child of my own. Never, in a thousand years, would I have ever thought myself worthy.
