Happy February and end of Avalore's first server campaign!
With the conclusion of January, the Honourless Campaign has also come to an end!
During this in-between time, our goals as staff are to tend to our other systems and mechanics, alongside improving how we operate with future server campaigns (e.g. opening future ones up to player DMs). Our priorities include tending to our ongoing backlog of requests for both Fables and Arcane Patrons, as well as developing more resources and revisiting methods behind-the-scenes to improve our processing times with an increasingly larger playerbase.
And apologies for being a few days late on this post! Life has been a bit busy.
Please remember to set intentional time aside to tend to yourself and your needs, and to check in on your loved ones both on and off of Avalore. Times like these can be uncertain, and it's more important than ever to stay connected and grounded through community, however that may look to you.

Campaign Updates
- The Honourless Campaign has concluded.
- The beginning concepts of our next are being developed, with player feedback in mind
- An epilogue is in the works from @Dee
- This and future server campaigns will be open to player DMs
Content Updates
Fables
- This is our largest current backlog for regular server functions (alongside Arcane Patrons). Thank you for your patience as we bring on more DMs and develop resources behind the scenes to allow us to have greater accessibility for new Fable DMs!
- A big welcome to our newest DMs for Fables:
- Alternative, faster methods to access Fables, with more time-consuming in-game roleplay potentially being opt-in, are being discussed
- Thank you for your patience as the Portents' requests remain closed pending an overhaul
- Unfortunately they have ended up simply being a very inefficient system for our current demands
Arcane
- The new Artifice patron is still being worked on, but the goal is to release this month
- Cantrips are being finalized
- Events being developed to introduce them in-character
Compendium & Bestiary
- A new entry in the Compendium's Bestiary, The Horned Monarch, has been submitted and approved. Thank you @Daniel for the lore submission!
- The Stonerunner cultural expansion is still being worked on, with some possible redrafting making it take a bit longer
- A huge thank you to @NOS402 for his work on it!
Cantrips
- The concept for a combat cantrip is instead being folded into magical weapons (see below)

- New feats will be released this month!

Combat/Misc.
- Mounts are being worked on as a joint discussion by staff to be implement in-game and in combat following a select few players' acquisition of them during the Honourless Campaign finale

Lore Submissions
- At this time we have a large backlog to process; while they aren't closed, expect a large wait time for lore submissions.

- Recurring - Foraging in the Reach: Enter for a chance to win a DMed foraging mini-event trip!
- Feb. 1st - Lectures Upon the Arcane: Doctor Elreyna Xal'tara hosted a lecture about the fundamentals of arcane theory.
- Feb. 1st - Funeral for the Guard: Respects were paid in this public event following the attack at the Spire's guardhouse.
- Feb. 2nd - Post-Battle Barbecue: Some community recreation to unwind after the battle at the Garden of Aedall.
- Feb. 4th - FUN DOG ADVENTURE: Dale McDougal requires an important delivery to be made, supervised by his trusty companion Lucky.

The editor's top pick for this month's player projects. The featured player earns 2 XP!
- Character Collaboration & Backstory Linking Thread by @Hyssope: An extremely useful thread for players to form connections for their characters! I highly recommend checking this out and giving it a try, even if you've had your character around for a while. There are always ways to sneak in connections, and it can be very rewarding to meet players and spread out in terms of who you usually roleplay with!

Please feel free to submit Avalore-related content to be featured in our monthly newsletter via DMs if interested. This can include (but is not limited to) puzzles, art, in-game photography and creative writing. Players can earn a couple XP for submissions!
