Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

The rhythmic sway of the wagon pull at my thoughts. Memories surface unbidden: hands brushing across ancient carvings, the scent of parchment aged by centuries, and the faint echo of my mother’s voice reminding me to honor the fables and legends of my presumed ancestry. The familiar ache in my chest stirs, as it always does when I think of what might be within the lost and fragmented history of the Aedall. But the woman's words pull me back to the wagon: "I am an archaeologist– no– an archivist. I am surveying these lands for history; perhaps remnants of a lost civilization if you will, at the behest of my mother" I admit with a pensive head tilt.
"Far from home then? Far from your mother?" The older woman smiles softly at me.
I hesitate at that, "Her time had come. She was unwell for a long time. After she sought some divine answer within the Dark Moon eclipse some century ago, she suffered from blindness– and a ceaseless delirium..." Upon my words the older woman nods and sighs.
"She witnessed an other worldly wonder, but suffered from such splendor," she would say as she placed her frail hand upon my own; she was a stranger, but held the comforting aura that often comes with the elder. Then the woman seemed to produce a deck of cards: "Care for a reading? Perhaps as we tread forward into your future?"
I could not help but chuckle softly at her pivot; she certainly could sense my misgivings. "Sure. Show me my future, wise one," and I would go to draw the top card as she finished her shuffling.
I glance down to the card I had drawn and see what looks to be a dark haired woman woven into a cocoon, and, above such depiction, a moth flying forth. "Chrysalis," the woman nodded pensively before continuing, "a great change approaches you, child. Perhaps a discovery of this world? Regardless you must abide by the change." I let the card linger between my fingertips before sliding it back over to her and pushing a furl of my hair back.
Although my mind immediately thought of the worst– as this meant to relinquish control– I cordially smiled: "Thank you for that."

Physical Description: An elven woman with lilac-tinted pale skin and silver, metallic-like hair. Her eyes are a light grey and her face is soft and kind. She is rather sylphlike in her figure, with a very willowy frame and corrected posture.
