Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

Slowly easing myself into the wooden seat of the carriage, flipping my silver white hair to the side clearing my eye's, I turn my head to the older woman across from myself.
"Nervous?... I suppose you could say that. Across these vast plains they call the southern reach there are many a friends to be made, fun times, and drinks to be had. However lurking in the shadows, to some only being rumors there are... vampires, do I know if they exist. No, I certainly do not, however the letter I received from my father could tell otherwise."
I shift uncomfortably in my seat, pulling my hand into my cloak. and taking out a small parchment soaked in a vile crimson ichor that has stained the page.
"This was the last thing I had received from him... He was a scholar of Fallstone, looking to come to the Southern reach to expand the republics knowledge on ancient texts regarding the accursed beasts. When I last saw him he left our house in a panic, grabbing me and screaming that he had needed to go to the southern reach's marshes and swamps. Handing me an envelope that had contained this here letter. Stating if he didn't come back in a week to open it and read it."
I sigh deeply, shivering just enough to be noticeable. "His behavior was not of a father, it was of a man fearing for his life..."
Memories of the scene come flying back, My breathe quickens before I slow myself down. Stopping for a moment.
The Cart quickly comes to a stop, a chuff heard from the horses carrying the carriage. I look back to the older woman with steady and friendly eyes.
"I'm sorry miss, and thank you... That really helped clear my mind. I hope we can meet again someday, and do please, take care."
I exit the carriage with a refined and proper nobleman's bow before waving goodbye and taking off into Southern Reach..
