- Introduction -
A man has been quizzically wandering about the spire for days, seemingly aloof, impatience begins to conquer his expression as the days pass. He spends this time looking at the base of the massive structure jotting notes down some nights he can be found sleeping in front of it's icy door, maybe it brings him comfort reminding him of his home, or perhaps he simply waits for it to open. While initially seeming rather unfriendly during the first few days of his stay here, he eventually opens up and begins to ask questions around the The Last Cask, questions that start to draw attention...

Place of Orgin: The Stillbloom Valley, in the very North of the Valkian Realm. Overlooked by his family's border castle.
- Appearance -
Elrik wears his long dark red hair in a ponytail that runs past his shoulders. Over his face are thick round glasses that cover his dark green eyes. Matching his eyes is a cloak that he wears over his shoulders. At his side a book with a wilted flower on the cover hangs, it's this same book that he writes in occasionally. Slung over his shoulder is a recurve bow. At his side, an arming sword forged of Valkian Blacksteel it is otherwise unremarkable. A signet ring made of the same steel sits on his pointer finger, the symbol of which is the same as the cover of his book, a black wilted flower. He wears half plate over his breast with a green cloak, his pants and boots are leather.
- Backstory -
"Here I sit in this wretched heat."
Elrik hails from the far north of the Valkian Realm in a place called the Stillbloom Valley. Rested humbly against a mountain side, his family's keep has weathered many a assault from both the elements and the barbarians of the Northern Realms. Their house words are put quite simply: "To endure is to prevail", his house specifically values physical strength and fortitude above all else. Being born as the third child however means that he isn't in line to inherit much from his family at all, he was often left to books as a child. He quickly developed a fondness for reading and for study, his family would eventually pay for him to attend university. It was here his interest in the Spire peaked, he constantly refers to it as "the world's greatest mystery". With a grant in hand and a chip on his shoulder this young valk scholar has set off to get inside of the spire and find the answers he's looking for.
- Goals -
"Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance."
Elrik wants to study magic, though he believes it to be chaotic in nature, so he advocates for containing it first. He tries to be cautious around mages until they have earned his trust. You don't need to spend very much time around Elrik to know that he is absolutely obsessed with the Spire. He aims to get inside and figure out what makes it tick. Or at the least find out what history it hides behind its walls. He's also looking into the disappearance of the Aedall although that isn't the primary reason he's here. He's been sent to the Spire on behalf of his university for research.

Valkian Black Blade "Gram"
"I can't be with you in spirit, but I can be in steel."

Forged from the iron of his mountain home, the sword was a gift from his eldest brother who would frequently spar with Elrik. The blade was forged in the blood of northern shamans.
