The sound of clinking glasses and idle chatter welcome you in as you find yourself stepping into The Full Cask. An older man with a full mustache and warm smile beckons you over to the bar he's tending. His gazes washes over you, a glint of some knowing look shining in his eyes. As you sit, his voice rumbles out:
"Hello there stranger! What can I get for you?"
After you order, he continues to make small talk. "You must be a newcomer. I'm Maarten, glad to meet you." He says with a certain kindness in his tone.
"Tell me, what brings you to the Spire?"

Your Response:Chimes rang as the figure entered The Full Cask, sitting down at the bar as prompted and removing the source of the ambient ring, placing the wide-brim hat with chimes strung along its rim on the edge of the seat beside him. His face was obscured, covered in a nickel-alloy mask, the visage of a stoic face with a neutral expression taking place of any emotion to be seen from the stranger. He ordered his drink: a hot mug of tea, sipping it through the mouth slot of his mask and setting it down, nodding his head. "It is pleasure meeting you, Maarten. I am Yvahnka." He introduced himself in a muffled, but clear accent of a Northerner, gauntleted hands gently holding his mug of tea. "Those of south may say I am missionary. However, title of Sin Eater is far different. I have visited few places before. . . Other than Abbey in mountains of Baruide, I've arrived to Southern Reach by way of farmland in Faded Steppe. " He began to explain, reaching to his belt by his waist and pulling a leather-back book from it, placing it on the counter. He slid it forward, turning it to show Maarten. The book read "THE CHOICE OF SIN" in bold gold lettering, Yvahnka crossing his arms and leaning back "Sin Eater's are members of abbey who committed great sin, making redemption impossible through eyes of ancestors. To bring good into world, they take sins of others onto self, damning their own soul in exchange. My duty was completed in Stonebrook, having laid to rest the sinners I could aid" he explained, placing a hand on the book and returning it by his waist, tucked under his belt. "I am not unique. Dozens of Sin Eater's prevent damnation of other Sinners. Each has different duty. My duty is that of burial rights, and redemption of Undead." he said, tilting his head down as his gaze matched Maarten's, one eye wrinkled, the other clear, barely showing through the dark shadow of his metal mask. "Spire is not safe from Undead. I am here to redeem those ailed with disease of un-life. Infected with sin, they are bound to be shamed by both ancestors and fables alike when reaching final breath." He explained, raising his tea to his mask once more, sipping it and taking the time to appreciate its flavor. "Though, abbey does not take interest in Fables. Boons of worship defeat purpose of Sin Eater, and privilege of doing so is not reserved for sinners. Speaking of purpose, Maarten. . ." He began, setting down his tea.
"Have the deceased walked the earth in recent times?" He asked, leaning forward with his hands clasped together.

Brief Physical Description: A lean figure of shorter height than most Northerners. He has long brown hair, tied into braids with gold thread. He's adorned in the robes of the abbey, yet his nickel mask, gauntlets, and sabatons mark him as a Sinner. Chimes hang from his wide-brim hat, ringing as he walks, announcing the presence of the Sin Eater.
