I am a storyteller of many sorts from flash fiction, short stories, scriptwriting, and, of course, several types of roleplay. I go by many names, but any variation of my ign or discord name is perfectly fine (ie. Rae, Raven, Koala), I have a preference for they/them pronouns but whatever is fine! Hope to see you all around! — In-Character Read the following prompt: The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands. “Nervous?” You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes. “I can tell it’s your first time. Tie the terms into your character's backstory. Why are they important to them?)   Initially, Emery wondered if it would be rude not to respond to the stranger. The woman seemed kind enough, but her older sister's parting words were still echoing in her ears 'Be safe. Be smart.'. Misu had always been Emery's point of guidance and talking to strangers in this new land was ill advised, but Misu would have told her to evaluate the woman, make sure she seemed honest, and then engage.   A moment passed and then Emery would return her gaze to the woman, tearing it away from the thrilling, unfamiliar surroundings. "Excited more than nervous," The truth was easiest to say and she felt her expression lighten, a smile pulling at her lips.   "I've never been so far from the ocean,"   They weren't so far, but it felt odd without the morning mists and without the salt on the air and the beach within view. Instead the terrain was the kind of lush swaths of farmland and grassy hills she'd only seen in drawings in books.   Emery pulled the leather pouch containing all her belongings away from the edge of the jostling wagon bench. The few spare necessities had gotten her from the Isle, across the boat voyage, and to here and would aid her in the rest of her adventure, however long it may be-- per Mistan coming-of-age tradition.   Realizing the silence stretched on for a moment too long, Emery continued. "My sister told me stories of the big cities. I am in need of more rations and the Southern Reach called to me," Emery's shoulder would lift and gaze turn out to look out at the path ahead. "I'm looking for adventure most of all," Her wistfulness would be interrupted by a quick add of-- "and a companion. Likely a creature. A pet. Misu-- my sister-- always talked about Tressym's. I know they're not very friendly but I'm sure with enough time I could gain the trust of one,"   There was a bit of whimsical mannerism about Emery, a youthful energy despite her visible age of her early twenties. She looked distinctly human with bright blue eyes and slightly tangled wavy brown hair that cut off at her shoulders. There was no doubt she had spent her childhood years running and exploring and making good use of her time and freedom, a tan to her skin accentuating her freckles. She had a bright, eager, adventurous energy. — Character Name: Emery Theramin  Character Race: Human Character Age: 21 Brief Physical Description: (the brief version: short brown hair, blue eyes, fair skin that tans with freckles) Emery stands at a modest 5'5, though fond of shoes with thicker souls to give her a slight boost. She seems relatively healthy and well-fed, though fairly athletic from her hours helping the shipbuilders from her hometown and frolicking and exploring the woods and bouldering along the rocky cliffside to get to her favorite spot along the beach. She has a paler complexion but easily tans in sunny weather which accentuate the spotting of freckles across the bridge of her nose and the apples of her rounded cheeks.   Her hair falls just above her shoulder, a slightly uneven cut which she undoubtedly did herself, though it's often messy and windblown state keeps that from being so obvious. With enough saltwater in the air, her hair has a bit more of a wave to it, but when it's properly combed, it falls flatter. The color of her hair is a humble brown hue that goes more golden in enough sunlight.   Emery's eyes are what she often describes as a 'tropical beach blue', a bright hue that she accentuates with a makeshift brown eyeliner from charcoal when she dresses up.   Her fashion is primarily inspired by something like a pirate style. Flowing white cotton tops, sometimes off the shoulder or frilly and light. Occasionally a corset and a skirt or leather trousers with tall boots. Nearly always she has a large satchel slung over one shoulder, carrying all sorts of goods and she often ties back her hair with a thin headband.
