House Oussea proudly traces its lineage back towards 1590 A.C. A house of Aedall Arsa Sidhe that claims that till this day their lineage never wavered. Keeping the old ways alive while the rest of the world lets them die off. While first remaining within the structures of the Southern Reach they eventually trekked their way across the Wall and made it towards the Midlands, settling amongst Nua Sidhe as medicine men and women. In those early days the family held no real pride with their Arsa roots. Happy to have any sort of job opportunity when they  ended up being a medics that worked for basically nothing. It wasn’t until many generations later that Elcyon Oussea started to take much more pride in his roots and get his family the money he thought they owed. While his family had passed down legacies and stories over the years, he was the one to introduce Solstice religion to the masses. Funding enough money from both these religious practices and alchemicals to finally buy a property under the Valkian empire’s rule. Starting the Golden Leaf Hospital and eventually through the riches gained securing his family a spot as nobility within the Midlands due to status alone.

Elcyon has not been around for a while now. His great-great grandchildren walked the Reach instead. His original message of wanting to preserve something that could become lost to time slightly twisted in a great sense of pride instead. Something that was one said with honour now used as a marker to deem others less worthy than them. The Solstice practices are still used till this day. And hold the most positive results for those that participate in its beliefs. It is just another myth with in the phoenix and equinox fabled past

Hello there, I would like to clarify a few things from an OOC perspective
here to make sure this lore comes across as cleanly as possible.
These are things you can know icly if you like!

1. This Aedall noble house living within Valkian lands is for sure meant to have heavy ‘purist’ undertones. A family lineage builds on the idea that preserving something as silly as ‘only being Aedall Arsa Sidhe’ has any sort of meaning at all. When in reality it really doesn’t matter and had no shred of proof behind that even being the case. Just a family who has waved enough money around to proudly state something like this to be true.
   
   
2. The Oussea family runs the Golden Leaf Hospital. A privately owned larger hospital in Mariza that supplies its own medication. This hospital treats its workers and patients with the utmost care and is the biggest star in the family’s collection of trophies. The health care isn’t free but it is affordable, and a few free office hours are held for those that can’t even afford that.
   
   
3. The older generation of Oussea is a quietly cruel lot. If you wish to have known this family somehow and you weren’t what they deemed as a ‘pure elf’ your experience would have been bad but not blatantly so. They hide behind smiles, support those with the most power and turn coat easily on people that were previously allies. Whoever feeds their delusions of grandeur most gets their support.
   
   
4. The  Solstice religion isn’t a real ‘Fable’ when it comes down to mechanics. It never will be either. It was a story told to a few Aedall villagers that struggled to get through the harsh winters. Stories, just like fables, that started with something real and raw and developed into something bigger. Seeing twinkling stars at night kept them going and this belief eventually formed into a pseudo worship with it’s own practices. Despite the family that upholds these beliefs not being the greatest of people this Solstice belief is still actively helping a small group of people. As the believes in the end, are pure of heart. Find your purpose, get it assigned to you through ceremony, live your life helping others.

An equinox and phoenix myth

The night was stormy, one of those nights where looking outside meant you were looking into a void. Snow coating everything and reflecting no light. The great halls of they prided themselves on providing no warmth to the poor citizens at their wits end. This was going to be the longest and darkest night in their history and they had no clue if they were to come out the otherside.

Many prayed for any relief from this maddening darkness. Hearing rumblings outside causing them to grow more and more paranoid by the hour. It wasn’t until a large thudding sound woke most of them from their half slumbers that their attention was drawn back to the outside. Birds had flown up from the surrounding trees, swarming past the window like pests. Trying their best to get away from whatever was causing the noise. As they cleared one lone scholar pointed to the sky. Motioning to how stars had started to appear. Many called him crazy for standing so close to the thin glass but soon joined him. Letting their eyes adjust to the darkness as finally..  Lights were indeed revealed. Something twinkled past them, shooting by.. Revealing seven different stars appearing above one another, climbing upwards to finally reveal the moon that had hidden behind clouds up until now.

Many that had heard of the phoenix and equinox stories before drew their conclusions fast. They must be giving them hope, giving them a sign to keep going. Why else would something so spectacular be revealed to them. The stars were never seen in this formation before and were quickly assigned a heavenly body dubbed ‘The Solstice’. Each star holds a feeling of something right and true within them.

Now, years later. It is common practice for this subsect of Equinox and Phoenix believers to invoke the Solstice as a religious practice to assign those a purpose. Something to aid them with finding themselves, keeping themselves going and helping them on their pilgrimage.

      • This mark, often found within the cleavage or just under the collarbone is for those that
        put their kind nature above all else. Being selfless but still taking care of themselves
