Eventline NPC INDEX
'Won' , The Woodsman
A stranger who supposedly witnessed the Aberration before the scouting party did. Was able to save Wen from being discovered by it early.
Rell, the Runner
Among the Rangers of the Spire, holds a title of 'Runner' because he is quick on his feet and is able to traverse long distances quickly, without needing to stop for rest as often as others. As a result, he is often used to transport urgent messages or notices between rangers in the field and those back in the town.

Prologue: Where steps Faltered. [Complete]
“They say the Aedall vanished without a cry. One day, towers of silver and gold crowned the trees. The next, moss and stone where memory should be. Not simple ruins but absence. As if they were swallowed whole.” Now the Reach is stirring again. Quiet, but not still. Rumors abound - ‘hunters missing’ , ‘Ranger missing’. Someone's organizing a scouting party to find out why. An advance notice is given to the Spire Hospital and its staff - they may be returning with wounded. |

Scouting party led to investigate the disappearances of Hunters, woodsmen and multiple ranger patrols east of the Autumnglade. Area was marked by silence, abnormal predator absence, and trails that indicated someone or some people fled through the area. Recovered remains of at least two confirmed rangers - bodies were torn apart with both precision and brute force. Limbs severed cleanly, some broken and battered. Patterns in the damage suggest usage of a bladed weapon, but not wielded with conventional technique. Recovered Remains left in care of Spire Undertaker, to be freely accessed by Spire Hospital staff for investigations and Autopsy.
Tracks led to a clearing - engagement with Aberration ensued. Creature initially thought to be mournshade, but cannot conclusively determine. Displayed some form of MUTATION allowing its capabilities never before seen but supposedly reminiscent of typical mutant abilities.

Chapter 1: A hollowed Form (Epilogue)
The Spire’s Rangers cast their net wide, suspicion gnawing that more than one abomination prowled the eastern edges of the Autumn Glade. For coin and duty alike, hunters set forth.
By the cliffs they found it: a den steeped in rot, blood corpses of prey. There, one creature was felled after a bitter clash, while another - thrashing with inhuman fury - was trapped and dragged back alive. Its form, bound yet unyielding, leaves to see what it might offer.
Now the den lies waiting, its walls slick with strange markings, its air thick with the musk of alchemy and decay. The Rangers have blood, corpse, and captive - but not answers, not all of them at least.
Thus closes the first hunt. The path now winds deeper …

During investigation into recent disappearances, we discovered a subterranean ruin, shaped not by hand but seemingly grown from stone itself. The structure is somewhat intact yet dormant - no signs of life. >Notable Findings: The Basin: The Stele Chamber: The Arch: The Lab: >Conclusion |

Eventline Custom Mechanics:
The following Mechanics may be used in any event connected to this event line. It will be noted prior if they are to be used.
Raids:
meant to be a tough fight if players choose to engage with them in direct combat. Recommendation is to engage in different means or to shift the situation to be as advantageous as possible.
Additional Mechanics:
- Has an additional turn for every 3 players in the raid party. (May be forgo-ed with DM discretion)
- Players have a single limited reaction (per round) that may be used to evade or block a single incoming attack. Resolve through existing mechanics. CANNOT be used if evade or block was activated in the turn prior.
- If an enemy enters or leaves a player’s melee range, they may make a single attack of opportunity rolled as a flat 2d10 with no modifiers as long as they have a melee weapon equipped. (When the attack is made - ie whether before the enemy’s action or after - is at DM discretion)
