Hi, I generally go by Choco, Ramen, or Robin (she/her)! I’m not new to roleplaying, but I am very new to Minecraft. I’ve RPed on WoW, FFXIV, redM (WildRP), and through different TTRPGs for a while; I stopped counting after hitting a decade in this hobby. I also enjoy drawing, but I’m rather shy with sharing my art. That being said, I drew a quick sketch of Lassie that I'll leave here:

In-Character
Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”
How do you respond (in character)? (250 word minimum - please make sure to include at least three references to our lore in your response, with two coming from different pages in the Compendium. Two of the three selected should also be in-depth, avoid simply name-dropping lore terms. Tie the terms into your character's backstory. Why are they important to them?)
Meek as a mouse, the lass slumps forward while fidgeting with her sword’s scabbard. Minimal in design and evidently of a lower quality as it is missing a leather covering, there is no intricate design carved to busy her digits with aside from the wood’s natural grain. Her answer, while belated, is found and mumbled in the near trance she receives from her absentminded tracing of wood grain.
“This is the farthest I’ve ever been from home. I think it’s beginning to settle in.”
Blinking once, and then a few more times over, the lass glances away from her work to match the older woman’s gaze with a look far more sheepish and apologetic in its grin before appending, “Not that my home is that far away; it’s just north of The Wall. Er. I suppose that doesn’t answer your question, though, madam. Let me think on it for a moment…”
Curling one hand into a fist, the lass taps those knuckles against her cheek while languidly leaning some of her weight on that slanted, sheathed arming sword of hers. The covered blade sways some from side to side as she cants her head along with it. Far more used to exchanging Crowns than pleasantries with strangers, the lass certainly presents herself to be.
Her motions come to a subtle and slow halt, and her gaze returns to her elder with a pressed, polite smile creasing her eyes.
“You could say that I’ve come to follow another’s footsteps. If you have the time, actually, perhaps you might know something to help put me in the right direction.” A single, drawn inhale is taken in by the lass, but she doesn’t allow much in the way of a true pause for her elder to chime in before continuing her speech.
“My eldest sister is a driven, but prideful woman. If one would call it arrogance, I would counter that it’s not so flippant nor without reason. But I digress: When she returned from her last assignment some seasons ago, she decided to break the mold. While my other siblings don’t seem to mind their work much as mercenaries of the Duchy of Rulan, she desperately wants to fight for something more. To devote herself to a true cause. As admirable as I think that is, I’m not certain leaping to seeking out some myth was, or is, a proper way to start.”
Exhaling a disgruntled huff, she casts a glance side-long and out at the scenery moving by as the caravan continues its trek.
“I know that she ventured with a small party into a forest to seek out the Lady of the Lake, but that’s where my leads come to an end. Our mother has only grown more grief-stricken as time has gone on, and now that about half a year has passed…I really hope that Mother’s fears about her becoming a forest fiend are unfounded. Mother really believes that Dame might have been abandoned out there – For what reason? I can’t be certain. We Calders aren’t a particularly wealthy or high-standing family for it to be for substantial Crowns or politics. Most of us serve the Duchy of Rulan as either farmhands on the Southern-most vineyard or grunt-like warriors.”
Wavering, the lass lowers her head while pushing a defeated sigh through her nostrils as her hands tremble.
“If she’s become a necrophage, I will do what I must to grant her peace.”
Grimly resolved, her hands come to coil around and clutch her sword’s hilt tightly enough to blanch her bare knuckles. She straightens her posture as she speaks solemnly, lifting and tapping her scabbard’s blunt point on the wagon’s boards below and between her boots twice.
“So, I come for duty, first and foremost. But, who knows what other paths I might find myself on along the way? By the by, thanks for listening. I’m Lassie Calder, and if you might have heard of her, my eldest sister’s name is Dame Calder. Ah, and that’s truly her name, not some title. My parents had…expectations, one could say.”
