Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”
How do you respond (in character)? (150 words minimum)
I blinked once more allowing myself to process the question asked, and gave a gentle smile to the woman, my hair was a mess, and my clothes were not suited for the weather, I looked out at the world around then back to her.
"Just a bit nervous, we do not travel much outside our home in the Midland, but it was too far to walk as well it being winter, it does not make for good travel so we took a Wagon instead Our home was being overrun by beasts and we could no longer keep them at bay, so we are fleeing"
I said holding my legs together with my arms keeping warm, my hands only slightly lifting so I could exhale into them for warmth.
The old woman raised her eyebrow looking up and down at me for a moment before looking out at the people talking with glee, the old woman nodded listening in before turning back to me. Her eyes full of old wisdom only showed pity.
"I see apologies my dear I thought it might be for some other reason, you seem young and spirited compared to an older woman such as myself, I miss took you for an adventurer."
I chimed in waving my hands franticly to the older woman
"Oh please it's alright, You didn't know so it's alright, and yes...We do not look right it was hard to find proper clothing so we did with what we could."
The woman looked shocked for a moment before giving out laughter and unraveling one of the many layers of her outfit and handing it over to me, before I could decline another woman was next to me took it and helped it around me, It was not much but it felt warm the older woman sat back with a smile and watched out the wagon at the clear crisp skies above. I didn't say anything but only smiled at the kindness that was shown and curled into the cloth closing my eyes to sleep.

Veena has bright Purple eyes and bright freckles all over her face, her skin white as milk yet riddled with scars she hides with clothing. Veena is well built due to fighting off beasts from her home and hunting.
