"Weary be to all who entrepid the path of the woods. Haints and sinners look for yet another feast."

Music Mood
Upon each and every noticeboard, public door, and letterbox, notes were spread around. These notes had upon each their faces old and browned paper with a wax seal at its front. The seal is green, a figure of a tree embossed in a golden wax. The tree is dead. The letter smells of ash, it smells of cedar, it also smells of death.
"To all the citizens of the Spire I write this letter to invite thee all to a celebration. A celebration of the beginning of the end. The beginning of a decay. Autumn. The leaves fall dead, the trees fall deceased, and from their decaying mass comes new life. Mushrooms and fungus take their place... Among... Other things. My name is Mark Lothare. I come from a distant land of red flowers. I also bring with me my riches, resources, though I do not seek refuge within thy lands for I distaste of its rules... And feel my recourses would be wasted on thee. No. I bring forth an offer to claim a bit part of my riches. I invite those to come into the woods where my property lies... And usher forth the cycle of rebirth. What kind of little mushroom will thou be?"
Any who read these notices find that the letters themselves are quite fragile, as they seem to decay in the hands of those who grasp them. Mushrooms seem to surround each location these letters are posted. The wood nearby decaying.
OOC
This is an event arc that has one theme and one theme only. SPOOKY. Throughout the fall. Though because it is a Halloween-themed event, I do want to warn that the themes will likely be disturbing imagery or graphic descriptions. If you are squeamish, I ask you to be open about it, and the event can be altered to accommodate.
That said, despite this being a notice to everyone, I unfortunately cannot DM for everyone. What will happen like Turn 1 there will be three groups and I will do my best to do all of them. Though unlike Turn 1, it will be three very similar events so I don't stretch myself too thin. Which means each event will have combat, mystery, knowledge checks, and terror. Though they will be different enough, so the following event names will be as such.
~+~
A Rite of Decay: Explore the grounds and fend off haints and terrors.
A Rite of Mori: Search the grounds and solve the puzzles. Terrors might impede your path.
A Rite of Momento: Speak with the potential groundskeepers of the grounds and maybe even meet the man himself.

When signing up you can list a preferred event. Realistically, they all might behave the same, with more focus on the respective aspect. Combat and exploration, mystery and investigation, intrigue and socialization.
Be warned, however, due to the nature of these events they might take a long time to get through. It depends on players and speed of which the exploration part of the events go. There is a possibility a Turn 3 will need to be done. I'm experimenting.
Also! I will be doing an absolute maximum of 3-5 groups. Depends how much this fills up. I want groups small so I will keep it to 4.
