Appearance
Nergui stands a towering around 8ft tall, sandy grey ram horns that she often paints over with a yellow ochre pigment to make them more pronounced, and has a head full of orange-red hair that falls in wild waves and curls. Nergui’s eyes are a solid gold color, hinting at her mixed Fey-Touched ancestry. She is of stocky, but feminine build. She has warm, grey-undertoned skin. Her arms, legs, neck, and cheeks are covered with dark brown scales. Her hands, feet, and tips of her ears are tinted a dark, ashy grey.
Nergui wears ashy blue lantern pants and roomy leather boots with a maroon tint. She wears a belt and short decorative apron with embroidery. She wears fabric cuffs around her horns and a quilted scarf around her arm. Her sleeveless shirt is woven of thick, brown fabric that forms a fishbone pattern. When it is too cold, she has insulated pants, thicker boots and she adds thick sleeves lined with furs. She often wears decorative ribbons on her horns she calls shathör.

Öba
This practice originated in a handful of far north Ashland tribes. The öba is a long tapestry that is added to every year starting at your 10th year. Every year a new scale is added that is decorated with an event(s) of the past year that impacted the maker. Once you hit your 100th year, it was encouraged to begin making the dragon tongues. The head of the serpent tapestry where the tongues represented life lessons and what the individual learned over their life they wish to pass on.
The name of the öba is the same word used for life.
- A small chunk of Ashland stone that fits in the palm of her hand and that has been carved to look like a dragon. Carved with an unsteady hand. Often re-painted to give it a splash of color using paints made of ash, red ochre, and yellow ochre mixed with oils.
Home-made Dragon Statuette
This was made using Ashland stone pulled form an alter that held the Four Fires in the center of her village before she left. Meant to be a piece of home to give her comfort.

Nergui was born Azarmir Blexoshuchar along the western trail of the Serpent's Tongue Pass. Her family and clan had been exiled from their original territory and pushed out into the Unexplored Lands after deserting an inter-tribal conflict.
Some looked upon her arrival as a symbol of new beginnings; the first baby born in the new lands. Others looked on with pity for essentially the same reasons. Not that this is something she remembers, being so young.
Nergui's first memories were of the northern tundras and mountains that fenced the territory. Her early memories filled with warnings wrapped within stories about the beasts and dangerous that wander the cold shrublands. The chill of the land was mixed with the warmth of her village and the practices they brought from the Ashlands proper and her clan's own local practices. Reverance of the Fire Dragon, Embroidery and quilting practices, Four Flames Day, and. However, these practiced had been altered due to their new living situation. Quilting and embroidery being achieved using wools, leathers, and sinew rather than cloth and thread like before. Or the Four Flames Day, the celebration was altered so that two of the flames representing freedom and fighting were snuffed out before the end of the celebration.
Nergui grew up in a land not meant for kids, so her resiliance and strength blossomed as much as her wits for survival in order to brave the northern tundra. Alongside this, she had a great love for sewing and embroidery, writing about the beasts that the village hunters would bring in for slaughter, and the natural wonders that filled her mind with awe rather than a fear of the unknown.
Once she was old enough to begin her oba, she started recording these experiences. Three years after starting her oba, when she was 13, the village began to shift. During the spring, a large creature attacked outside the village. Two hunters died in the fight before bringing the beast down. To celebrate the beast was brought in to fuel a large feast.
Over the next three years, an unknown illness would grip the village. It was believed it was brought in from that beast that that the hunters killed. However, the doctor of the tribe perished to the disease before anyone could figure out how to properly combat it. The sickness was a slow wave across the town. Those gripped by it succumbed to hacking coughs. Aches and chills that left the muscles in pain and a struggle to move. The breaths got short as muscles tensed, making it difficult to breath and lungs filled with an unpleasant bodily ichor.
Nergui isn't sure why she was the one to avoid this unknown plague. After three years, she was the only one left in the little tundra village. Despite knowing that her tribe was meant to be exiled here, she didn't want to stay. The disagreement was before her birth. She didn't want to succumb to the same fate and take a chance at life. Her will to live weighed down by the fear and grief of loss. She stayed within the village for another two months. Preforming the funerary rites they would have wanted, preparing her supplies, and adding as many scraps of the tribe's oba to her own. Once that was done, she took a chunk off the Four Fire alter, which over her journey she would carve into a Fire-Dragon statuette as another piece of home on her travels.
