Battle of the Autumnglade

It is my great pleasure to invite you all to gather in one week’s time in celebration and remembrance of our hard-fought victory at the Battle of the Autumnglade.
In preparation for this annual festival, carpenters, masons, and festival planners shall soon be hard at work upon the Militia’s training grounds east of town, where the festivities are to be held. There, contests, ceremonies, and celebrations shall be arranged in honor of all who endured, fought, and prevailed amidst the crimson woods of the Autumnglade.
May this occasion serve not only as a celebration of victory, but as a remembrance of courage, sacrifice, and the steadfast spirit of our people.
All are welcome to attend.
Opening: Battle-Eve Feast
Date/Time: ((Saturday, June 27th, 4pm EST))
Before the day of commemoration, we open with a Grand Feast! Long tables will be set with hearty food, warm and cold drinks alike, and of course, Alcohol!
I encourage all in attendance to gather in fellowship while we honor the old belief that that a full belly and a steady heart may carry a warrior through the darkest hour!
Take the time to also engage in honorable and jolly challenges with one another! Sign up for the games to come the following day! And Wage bets on who will come out with the best performances!

Day in the Glade, Day of Games
Date/Time: ((Sunday, June 28th, starting 1pm EST))
This year, the games scheduled are: Charging the Line, Trailblazing, Trial of Marksmanship
Each game will be overseen by at least one referee or judge and the games will happen concurrently throughout the day (With the exception of Charging the Line)! Scores will be awarded based on the contestant's performance and a ranked list of scores will be present publicly and updated every hour until the time comes to award our winners! Awards will go to the champion of each game and their runner - up.
Trailblazing
During the battle of the Autumnglade, a portion of the militia cavalry took to the forests, maneuvered themselves through the thick undergrowth and charged the flank of our enemy allowing them to disrupt the enemy lines and introduce chaos amongst their ranks! So this game is all about how best you can ride, and maneuver your horse through obstacles in order to reach your destination!

Trial of Marksmanship
The Militia Archers, rained arrow after arrow into the enemy, with many finding their mark between shields and armor alike! So this trial is all about marksmanship!
A Series of targets numbered 1 to 11 will be laid out at increasing distance from the shooting line! The contestant will be given twelve arrows and each target hit awards a particular number of points corresponding to the difficulty with which to hit the target. Each contestant may elect to undertake this trial twice, and no more.

Charging the Line(s)
When armies clash, shields splinter and steel rings! This is a contest of strength and endurance! Equipped with only shields, Contestants will be divided evenly to two sides. When the bell is rung, the two sides mush charge one another, shields raised and try to push their opponent back. Those that are pushed back behind their Line are eliminated. The victors are split into two sides and the game continues until the champion rises from the final two!

Award Ceremony, and Closing.
Before Dusk falls, we have our award ceremony to celebrate our champions! The three champions will then honor all of us gathered, honor the day of the battle, and honor all we must remember and cherish - by leading us in our closing ceremony.

Volunteers are wanted for:
- Heralds (Refereeing the games and providing commentary on them, alongside announcing the list of scores!)
- Medical Support for any injuries.
- Patrol duty, to ensure everyone is keeping the peace.
- Food and Drink Vendors
- Barkeeps
- Master(s) of events - to help organize the volunteers, ensure smooth operations and maintain enjoyment throughout the event!
