Additionally! we want to prevent any last minute bid sniping. so any bids placed within 5 minutes of the closing time or the last bid made, will continue to be valid.
that means for example, 
> - bid is placed for 500 crowns at 10:05 EST -- valid!
> - bid placed at 550 crowns at 10:10 EST -- valid!
> - bid placed at 600 crowns at 10:15 EST -- valid!
> 
> - bid placed at 650 crowns at 10:30 EST -- not valid!

This is to allow a final bidding opportunity until someone wants to pull out rather than leaving it to whoever waits until the final second to place their bid and *snipe* the auction.
