Dawn to Dusk
Kawatare is a shrine devoted to the beliefs of the Equinox and Phoenix. The Twinned Birds rise and fall, heralding the passage of time. They bring forth dawn and dusk with their glimmering rays. They bring forth the cycle of life and death. They provide energy and rest. While they may never meet, their gifts are felt by all.
Solace may be found within these halls, a space for quiet contemplation without disturbance. There is peace, but there is also time for growth. Every journey made is personal, and even past these walls, Kawatare will guide the way.
Those in need of sanctuary will find Kawatare to be a safe haven, but respect must be upheld. Shoes are to be removed, and proper obeisance must be given to the statues of the Equinox and Phoenix. Rituals are to be done only with permission of the Shrinekeeper, and incense must be burned in the designated censers and bowls.
The Rite of Dawn
Every morning at the break of dawn, homage is paid to the Phoenix, bringer of light. Offerings of food and drink are given, after purification of the body. Following any rites made that day, breakfast is served to those present.
The Rite of Dusk
As the sun sets into dusk and the moon begins to rise, homage is paid to the Equinox, bringer of darkness. Offerings of wrapped branches and alcohol are given, after purification of the body. Any rites needed will follow, before the shrine is closed for a night of rest.
