Poster THE DUKE IS DEAD!
Started by Reedie

After some weeks, a series of posters make their way down to the Spire and are posted on notice boards. A number of them are water and moss-stained.

ALL YE WHO READ THIS, KNOW THAT:

OUR BELOVED DUKE IS DEAD!

Resting now in his eternal sleep, Duke Arthus has perished. In his place, his firstborn daughter
and rightful heir to the Duchy of Rulan is to rule!

Proclaiming herself rightful Duchess of Flowers, Guardian of the Wall:

DUCHESS DAHLIA SILVERBLOOM!

To celebrate the occasion, all are invited to pay a tribute to her rule.

A Walljack is quick to nail a small burlap sack below the notice board, to collect 'tribute'.
Safe to assume you're paying tribute to their pockets, though.

it's me

The massive Greatling reads the notice. She considers a moment, then decides to send a note to the Duchess, knowing it may never be seen. But we're out here to make a name for ourselves, so we're going for it.

Dear Duchess Dahlia,
I send condolences for the demise of your late father. Though I am naught but a foreigner, the loss of a parent is a pain which is terrible to bear.
Know that there are many who stand with you, in this time of grief. Should you ever need a shoulder to lay your head upon, I am at your service.
May your reign be long, fruitful, and full of joy.

May the sun shine on you,
Tirza

The letter has a lipstick kiss at the bottom, because OOCly Reedie said to.

An official letter with the crest of a wilting flower is sealed inside the sack. It starkly contrasts the crest of house Rulan.

House Rulan,

House Rosencrantz sends it's regards. Despite our distance from one another know that we share your plight in defending the realm from outside invasion. Although I'm indisposed to include anything of material worth in this letter, in the interest of good faith, from one member of the peerage to another I offer you my favor. Should you need anything, all you need to do is send a letter addressed to me at the Spire. I will endeavor to help you in any way that I can, the roads seem to be full of danger these days, it's best we stick together.

Your steadfast friend from the far North, Elrik Rosencrantz
