Citizens of the Spire,

The beginning of this new year has been a harrowing experience for many of those that call this city their home. This was intended to be a time of celebration, but instead was spoiled by the fatigue of prior months. These creatures — the fey of the Monsoon Court — which for so long existed within our periphery, were able to root themselves into the facets of our government by means of duplicity, and in so doing allowed misery to proliferate amongst our people. With each passing week we experienced a new disappearance, a new death, or an unfortunate soul losing something irreplaceable.

Yesterday, we showed them that we are no longer victims to be preyed upon.

For this moment I can not say that we are entirely rid of those that would cause us harm, nor are we insusceptible to future encroachment. What I can say however is that on this day, we won. The impostor and kidnapper fey Quince & Thrice has been defeated, and those that were taken from us for so long were rescued from its clutches. Similarly, the thief of reflections, the Mirror Fey, was shattered. 

While something this momentous would be best reserved for a speech, I would rather our citizens stay within the comfort of their homes. Spend time with those you consider friend and family. Recover and reflect on that which you hold dear.

To add, I wish to personally thank all of those who took part in this battle, and those who assisted with its aftermath. Our militia, our medics, our mages, and those citizens who willingly risked their own lives in defense of their fellow person. Had I medals to give, I would. But for now, I offer only my sincerest gratitude.

The "Human Festival" is an event to which consequence will be felt for years to come, as for every that had a wish granted, another had something taken. I only hope that those who bargained with the fey were fortunate enough to get what they hoped for.

I won't be proofreading this, and I have no intention of doing anything else for the following days but being with those I hold close. So I apologize if this is meandering.
