Pride Fundraiser

• The Avalore Pride Fundraiser has been closed, which raised a total of $450 CAD! The money will be split threeways between the chosen charities, thank you again for your donations!

Minor Rules Update

• Roleplay Rules has been updated
  • Rule #10. This rule covers the grounds of all currently official rulings relating to minors in roleplay. Some of these include rules stated elsewhere such as mage applications or the mechanics page, both of which are linked. The outdated statement regarding minors has on the Player Conduct page has also been updated to reflect the more recent ruling that was on the Roleplay Rules page as well.

Updated Whitelists

• The Whitelist template has been updated with a new prompt, and Void-Toucheds are now capable of being used for them!

Lore Updates

Artifacts Page

• The Artifacts page is now out! The page includes a four-tiered system for categorizing artifacts, explanations of how the tier of item is determined, details including the effort needed to acquire an artifact as well as the amount of artifacts an individual character (character, not player) may have per tier
• If you have any special items obtained from events; a silly party favor item that just glows, or a cursed sword, or even a way to summon and talk to a Fey and the item is not listed- you can contact @/electric the details of it

• A new subforum for the Rumors from Distant Lands posts has been made!
• You can reference and read about things that have happened, or are happening elsewhere! Now all conveniently and neatly listed in the subforum!

• Two new bestiary submissions; the Daw's Pronged Hawk and Dirft have been added! Written and drawn by member @PotatoLion

Teasers

• A few upcoming lore reworks from @dogshitfartelectric for Divine Gardener, Siren Serene and the Storyteller! Details are quoted below;
• Divine Gardener
  • Divine Gardener's rework is near complete. This fable is being reimagined into Wild Nature. The lore is completely done, and now the feats are nearing completion. The Fable feats for Wild Nature will come with a usage mechanic that makes the feats feel unique to use, and pleasingly powerful in their own right.
• Siren Serene
  • The Siren Serene has entered the early stages of a rework, with the initial ideas being drawn up. No feats or finalized lore are written yet.
• Storyteller
  • The Storyteller has also undergone a quiet review, with a revamped writeup near-finalized. As has been long-requested, the revival effects have undergone a review and redo as well. The general mechanics/process of a Storyteller revival are NOT changing. We expect to launch this update in the near future.
• A Walljack Expansion project is also underway! Currently being worked on by @Moony and member @kass!

Upcoming Teasers

• Systems are hard at work with a lot of things! Such as:
  • Mounted mechanics in review, intended as part of our extended mechanics
    
  • Alchemy rework still underway
  • An update to various spells is in the works
  • Arcane adjustments also underway (including community-requested spell updates and potential new mechanics down the road)
    
  • Multiple updates and wording changes to some feats, namely defense-oriented ones
  • Defense mechanics update for shields and evasion
    
  • Arcane weapons revamp
    
  • Death feats (Death's Dance, Evasive Tactics) under review for an update
    

Technical Updates

New Chat Features

• Some new features have been implemented:
• Hex codes in crafting item names should be fixed, plus some weirdness with text wrapping is also fixed
• Adding multi-message emote
  • For each emote, end it with a - and then your final emote should not end with a -. It will then stitch all of the messages together into a single long emote, instead of having to write several. It will pop a little message above your toolbar when a multi-message is saved, so you know it didn't just vanish.
• Adding italics support. If you type like /this/ it will display as /this/, or alternatively if you type like *this* it will display as this
• /ch clear will clear any stored multi-message emote if you need to start over or change what you are writing

Minor Modpack Update

• The Avalore modpack has been updated to version 2.4.0, which should improve performance in building heavy areas
