For a vile beast is clawing its way into the council. Indeed, it is dastardly Van Pelt of whom I speak — a known low-life thug, arsonist, and ruffian. He who, for the glitter of coin, does not hesitate to put a torch to a house full of innocent people. What business, I ask, does a criminal have on the council? A criminal who poured flaming tar over the hands of Nell of Gordarda — the very hands that help feed the town with their work.
