[!]

Near the Catnap Inn, a brutal battle seems to have transpired while the townsfolk were distracted by the joust.

A vampire with silver-blonde hair was spotted stumbling away from the scene, leaving naught but blood and a beaten body behind.

The Spire's Greatest Hero has been brought low.

[ ! ]

Two Ember Knights trudged into the Spire town licking their wounds. They spoke of a vampire prowling the woods along the Ouroboros, situated in an old fort now serving their base. At the crack of dawn, a larger contingent of Swordbrethren sped to the delta and battled the vampiric threat.

And although the Swordfellows returned victorious, they were anything but triumphant. A good deal of shouting and hollering was heard from the headquarters in the southern district. A few people stormed out of the building after someone pulled their rank.

Some have gossiped that a duel was proposed but promptly denied. Other rumors goes so far to say that a vampire was captured and brought to the HQ! The more observant have guessed there's a strain between the Fallstone and Spire chapters of the order. Nonetheless, the excitement soon faded and the order resumed its usual secretiveness.

[!] A Sudden Change in Standings

Late last night, a meeting scheduled fell through... As the sun set over the spire, Ariella Bellefuelle could be seen smiling: bringing a fine bottle of wine towards the Full Cask. Her path from the Undercity to the cask, however, was interrupted. A loud sound of a scuffle could be heard from the flower fields, it is unclear if more red flowers have grown or if the woman's blood now sits as a stain upon vibrant the plantlife...

That night a man would announce himself to the Undercity as the New leader of the Midnight Circus, before promptly departing to gather his forces. All Carnies that had previously stationed on the topside of the Spire have retreated back underground, the undercity faireground blocked in by a wall of grotesquely tall mutants. Bodies would drop into the waters all throughout the night: those who attempt to resist the change in leadership find themselves plummeting into the depths of the Undercity's waterways.

Come the morning, the population of the midnight circus has been carved to a needle point of precision under the rule of Ringleader Harrison Nigredo Bellefuelle: who promptly vanished from the Undercity as the sun rose again upon the Spire.

My Circus my Monkeys

Having last been glimpsed departing the Spire on the waning hours of Reflection's end, a winged woman rode at quiet pace—astride her bay, accompanied only by a black-haired mercenary upon their own mount. Together, they made for Albern, their silhouettes soon swallowed by distance and dusk alike.

Whatever transpired upon that journey did not return unchanged.
In the dim hours before dawn on the second day of 1642, she was seen again.

The woman rode back not as she had left, but diminished—her wings bound in careful, ruinous bandages, their former grace rendered into something fragile and broken. What remained of her dark red cloak hung in tattered drapes about her frame, stained and heavy. Her complexion had gone pale to the point of ghostliness, her posture slack in the saddle, as though a single misstep might see her fall. Crow had been sent ahead, as she made one stop in the early hours. A small grey feline accompanying him, as they passed through the streets towards the Noctis Estate.

In the days that followed, the Lady Steward was scarcely seen.

Under the cover of night, someone has ridden into The Spire. Since arriving, they bought a room at the inn and have scarcely left it...

Mooshroom...?

Rumor has it the Militia's Leadership and Stewardess have agreed to a temporary measure... that Sergeant Eivor will oversee operations at Albern's in an effort to mitigate the spread of the fungal infection and risk to Spire leadership from traveling back and forth.
If one were to discover something interesting about the disease, they'd be welcome to visit him at his home, the Militia outpost where he's often found grooming the horses, or to pen a letter...

⋆⁺。˚⋆˙‧₊☽ ◯ ☾₊‧˙⋆˚。⁺⋆
Many spent the New Year with their family. One group, however, was unlucky enough to spend it attempting to solve a mystery.

As midnight struck, leading into the New Year, those out in the forest could hear a piercing wail of a scream. Soul-shattering heartbreak. It came loud, then died as a whimper. Once it was winter that was sorely detested, now it was the coming of spring that brought anguish. Someone was lost, unable to find their way home. Maybe that was it.

Though no one ever found the sources of the cry. In the coming nights, smoke, soot, and something burned could be smelled. Yet nothing could be found, hidden among shadows. Some say it must be a ghost wandering among the moonlight, but none report being attacked.

Only the briefest glimpse of white, black, red, and something silver. Then, it was gone as quickly as it came. Whatever it was, it continued to roam. Mindlessly, as if nothing else existed.

But one thing was certain- there was a place in Alberns that remained empty.

[ ! ]

A certain acrobat disappears from Spire. A horse is rented, and without anyone seeing, the man has suddenly disappeared.

It might take a few days for people to notice. His favourite spots lay empty, fewer animals in the woods are found drained of blood, and spirefolk are spared the bad singing. Who knows if he ever comes back.

And in other news, the Blumenprinz Boutique has, for a limited time, longer opening hours. Come to Undercity to buy anything your mind can come up with. We even supplied the lovely dress that was given to the princess. You might not be royalty, but you can always dress like one.
