In certain circles, rumors run afoot: The treasure of Wallar Holt is out there.
As the legend goes, Wallar, or Just Wally, stole countless treasures from not just the Aedall, but Rulan to the north, as well, many decades ago. When he was struck down in a duel, the secret as to where he hid his treasure was lost—or so it seemed.

As rumor has it, he'd left a number of caches behind, in addition to some kind of grand vault. The second of these caches has apparently been found, traced from small piles of crowns and pieces of jewelry washed into the murky swamps south of the wall.

While no leads regarding the vault or third cache happen to be floating around at the present moment, who knows what the future will have in store?

One misty, crisp morning, you awake to a knocking at your door. A man in a tidy cap stands there with a stack of pages, wearing a glassy smile that indicates, instinctively, that he's already dealt with 16 people worse than you, and is on the verge of snapping entirely. "Good morning- the name's Hardy, Hardy Irving, I'm with the city-- Here for our scheduled property inspection."

Word filters through the tavern that big changes are on the way. A scent of fresh lumber, the encroaching sounds of construction buzzing long into the night and (always) early to rise. Those with a concerned eye on the town gates would surely see more passing wagons, quick trade happening in the fascinating realm of material acquisition. And back in the Full Cask, Maarten has elected to run a happy hour every Cartday at 2pm.

Have you heard, have you heard- Hardy Irving said my house was 'unfit for mortal habitation,' I mean, the nerve-

[ OOC : Surprise everyone, the expansion is on the way. Expect more details in the coming days- the team is finalizing plans for release. ICly, there's a good bit of movement to bring in materials and begin on construction, with assessment teams out and about in the field. Feel free to RP accordingly! ]

Word spreads in some circles of a newly-unearthed cave, some ways north of town, off the path, holding a bounty of interesting stones! Someone's marked the entrance with a yellow piece of cloth on a stake. Further rumors suggest that they're calling it "Nutward Putward Cave."

There are whispers among the townsfolk of the Spire that a giant in armor and robes that appears more dragon in nature than man has been spotted in the Southern Reach. Two smaller minions seem to follow him in complete silence.
